Rally for Palestine

People everywhere have gathered for rallies to support Palestine--especially in capitals and embassies of Israel. Protestors in England, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Australia, Sweden, Poland, Africa and even here at home came together for that one reason.

"In Washington, several thousand demonstrators gathered in a park opposite the White House to protest the Bush administration's backing for Israel.
'Free Palestine. Let Gaza live!' they chanted as they marched. Some banners called on incoming President-elect Barack Obama to change U.S. policy.
'My country gives billions of dollars a year to support a disgusting regime that practices genocide,' said Washington resident Mary Carrick.

In some places, the rallies got violent, which I really think was a bad idea... They really should've kept them peaceful. Other than that, and I know I should have known better, but I'm really surprised/I-don't-really-know-what-to-call-it at how many people (and maybe not even Muslim!( support Palestine. I mean, Poland, Denmark? Makes me feel good, you know?

For more information on how the rallies went in other areas, check the source-- I chose only to report on America's~
